I was too busy yesterday devouring a giant veggie bacon quiche and inhaling Reese’s Eggs to check in here. For me, as a spiritual, but not necessarily religious person, Easter is all about the celebration of Spring. I must admit to enjoying this holiday more than Christmas because Easter brings with it a gift greater than anything found under a tree. It holds the promise of light-filled evenings, days spent poolside and by the grill, bottomless helpings of warm sunshine (though this doesn’t always deliver in the Northeast), and best of all, prime cycling weather.
Goodbye trainer, you’ve seen your last interval. Go collect some dust while I work on developing my classy jersey, shorts and half-finger tan.
Here’s to 2011 and the new faces we’ll meet and places we’ll discover. Now that I’ve scarfed down an entire bag of peanut buttery goodness, it’s time to work in a few extra hills. I’ll see you out on the road.
